Welcome to Berkshire Food Allergy Consulting
Services…the only service in the area that
specializes in food allergies!
I started learning about and researching food
allergies seven years ago when my daughter Katie, developed
a life-threatening allergy to Peanuts. I felt alone and
unprepared to handle her food allergy…I knew absolutely
NOTHING about food allergies and suddenly was put in the
situation to learn EVERYTHING ASAP because it was a matter
of life and death. I began to work with the teachers in
Katie’s day care center [and later, her elementary school],
in order to provide the most appropriate guidelines for
multiple situations that arose. From coordinating her care
from the bus stop to the bus, hen to school, then to the
classroom, then recess and lunch, not to mention numerous
holiday and birthday celebrations and field trips…for those
who have food allergies, these are all things that most
people take for granted, yet are “red flags” to my family
and other food-allergy families.
My goal is to help other families who are
dealing with food allergies for the first time, or
experienced families having issues that they need advice
and/or professional support. I combine my work experience
with my knowledge of food allergies and nutrition to fulfill
a need in Berkshire County. My professional experience has
been in human resources [including health insurance,
payroll, and benefits]. management, and employee training.
I am also certified as a Nutrition Specialist.
I also have many programs tailored to various
professions, including schools, teachers, restaurants,
Summer Camps and babysitters, as well as an extensive
library of resources and reference tools. |
